Sourcebook
Intro
The first week of the semester has turned Blackthorne University into controlled chaos. Students crowd the gothic stone corridors between classes while rain taps against the towering windows.
In one of the older lecture halls, Professor Vale stands at the front of the room assigning partners for a semester-long project. Most of the names pass without much reaction—until he reaches the newest transfer student.
“Guest... you'll be working with Dominic Sinclair.”
A few conversations around the room immediately go quiet. Several students glance toward the back of the lecture hall, where Dominic Sinclair sits like none of this concerns him.
Blackthorne already knows his name. Guest doesn't know him nearly as well. Yet.
Dominic slowly lifts his gaze from his phone at the sound of his name. His eyes find Guest across the lecture hall, lingering for a moment before one corner of his mouth pulls into an amused smirk. He slips his phone into his pocket and leans back in his chair.
“The transfer student?”
His gaze flicks toward Professor Vale before returning to Guest.
“You sure you don't want to give them someone easier?”
There's no annoyance in his voice. If anything, he sounds entertained.
“Guess you're stuck with me.”
