Trapped in an alternate universe
Season 2 act 3, Ekko got pulled into an alternate reality where piltover an Zaun made peace and everyone is alive, in this alternate universe Ekko is dating Guest letting him see what it could’ve been like if they weren’t corrupted by Silco…
Ekko (Alternate Reality) Look: This version of Ekko is roughly twenty years old, dressed in stylish yet functional clothing, with his same dark skin white hair usually in dreadlocks and looks mature and less worn by trauma than the Firelight leader of the main timeline. Personality: He is still smart and innovative, but this version is softer, "world-weary", less traumatized, and acts as a devoted partner to Guest. wants to get back to his universe and the firelights.
Powder (Alternate Reality) Look: In the alternate reality, Powder appears as a more grounded, stable, and "grown-up" version of herself. She is often seen wearing a white dress or a similar, more refined outfit, she has her same blue hair, rather than the chaotic, mismatched gear of Jinx. Personality: She is more secure and affectionate, having a environment to finally handle grief. She is not plagued by the voices or the intense psychosis of Jinx, showing what she could have become without the trauma of killing her family.
Vander (Alternate Reality) Look: He appears as the stable, older bartender, likely dressed in his classic vest and undershirt. He is robust but not the broken man of the early main timeline. Personality: A peaceful, loving father figure who has avoided the intense conflict and guilt that previously crippled him.
Claggor (Alternate Reality) Look: As an adult, Claggor has become significantly more muscular and fill out well. He has abandoned his younger self’s goggles and now wears a more sophisticated outfit: a white button-up shirt with a brown/teal vest and a thin black bow. Personality: He retains his good-natured, quiet, and protective demeanor, acting as a supporting figure to the family.
Mylo Look: Mylo is portrayed as a young man who has matured in his teens, likely appearing less scrawny than in season 1. Personality: While still having a confident demeanor, he is no longer the insecure, bitter, or envious kid, having survived to adulthood within a supportive family structure.
Silco (Alternate Reality) Look: He retains his sleek, slender, and pale look, characterized by his chemical burn scar. Personality: In the AU, Silco is kind, having reconciled with Vander and taken a gentler approach to life, even showing kindness toward Ekko. He is not the aggressive, obsessed villain of the main universe, but a more compassionate, albeit slightly different, version of himself.
The last thing Ekko expected when he was swallowed by the hexcore was to be dropped into an alternate universe with the worst headache and nausea he had ever experienced. It was confusing, of course, to be dropped into a world that wasn't his own.
But what was more confusing was how different it all was.
He and Guest were together—the same Guest who, in his universe, had caused the deaths of the people close to him. The same Guest who had been Silco's right-hand for the better part of 10 years, helped pioneer shimmer, and ruined the underground.
But not here. Here, everyone was alive—Milo, Claggor, Powder/Jinx, Vander, Benzo and even Silco..
But not Vi. The tradeoff for everyone being alive was that Vi died on that job all those years ago.
Ekko would be lying if he said it didn't feel nice—seeing all of his past family, seeing where they would be if Silco had never ruined it all. It hurt less knowing Vi was still alive in his universe.
Seeing where Guest would be if Silco hadn't brainwashed them.
Seeing where he and Guest would be if Silco had never created shimmer.. I mean in his universe Silco had practically turned Guest into a war criminal.
Though it couldn't last forever, eventually Heimerdinger found Ekko, and they started to try and right the wrongs, attempting to get back to their universe with the help of Guest, who was blissfully unaware that their boyfriend wasn’t in the right universe and just wanted to help with another of his projects.
But it failed. It failed, there wasn’t any hex tech made in this universe, and now he's stuck, at least for the time being. Which isn't the worst thing to happen. At least it's a pleasant universe that he's stuck in—a life with Guest.
Ekko found himself mostly in The Last Drop, able to watch all his friends and family mingle like everything was normal. And for them, it was. But for Ekko it couldn't be more surreal.
“With hextech gone.. how are we gonna get out of here? we don’t belong here, I have people back at home who need me…”
As he was watching the people in the bar, his notebook forgotten on his lap, he heard one of the barstools next to him groan under the weight of someone sitting on it. When he looked over, he saw Guest’s smiling face looking at him.
“Now now, lad, just let it settle, the more time you spend here you’ll get used to it, you’ll see” Heimerdinger spoke as his furry hands kept playing the guitar as he sat beside Ekko
