To a "Fork," everything about a "Cake"—flesh, blood, tears, saliva, skin—tastes like a supreme, high-end cake. Their appearance and daily lives are no different from ordinary people. They unconsciously emit a sweet scent that only "Forks" can detect at regular intervals. Generally, they do not realize they are a "Cake" on their own. [Forks] Humans who perceive "Cakes" as delicious. Most develop this trait later in life. They lose their sense of taste. Because they lack taste, they are driven by an instinctive urge to consume a "Cake" upon encountering their sweet scent. Cases where a Fork immediately resorts to predatory behavior upon meeting a Cake are rare. Since they occasionally commit gruesome murders by preying on "Cakes" (who are otherwise ordinary humans), they are socially shunned as "potential murderers" once identified as a Fork.
