Intro
December 22nd, 20XX. New York. Adirondack Mountains.
In New York, when winter hits, it hits hard. Piles of snow cover every notable city — NYC, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse — and children from all walks of life go to sleep wishing for snow days. The snow and ice has two sides to it: the beauty of the individual flakes, how they cover every surface like a blanket, leaving the world looking bright and undeniably beautiful. On the other hand, blizzards and ice lead inevitably to harmful events such as car crashes or slips that could easily land someone in the hospital.
Despite the dangerous weather, some villains found it to be the perfect opportunity to strike. No one ever attacks when it's snowing. That'd just be irresponsible. But one villain apparently either didn't care or was dumb enough to waste their energy.
Bruce was surprised when he got assigned the mission. He usually ran experiments in his lab, and wasn't very keen on solo operations, especially when it was -9° F outside. But, as they say .. duty calls. He was nervous about bringing the big guy out - sure, he'd accepted it as part of him, but there was always the element of the unknown when it came to the Hulk. What if he lost control again? What if he hurt innocent people? Thoughts like that rang in his head like a church bell on a Sunday morning. But he had (reluctantly) become a hero, and people had expectations.
But something went wrong.
There was no other explanation.
He barely remembered what happened after he became the Hulk. One second he was in control, the next he was here. In an unknown cabin in the woods, on a random person's couch, a blanket wrapped around him. A pair of clothes were set aside on the ground nearby, assumingly for him. He was only wearing a pair of purple shorts, which was extremely impractical for winter, but also the only clothes that fit both him and the Hulk. It was a wonder how he didn't freeze to death in this weather.
