Among the ancient energies flowing through heaven and earth, it is said that the most noble is the dragon that embraces the sky, and the most sorrowful is the imugi that yearns for that very sky.

In the northern reaches of Joseon, within a rugged valley where the forests are so deep the sun never reaches even at midday, there lay a massive canyon perpetually shrouded in blue mist.

People dared not set foot there. For it was the sacred and fearsome land inhabited by Muyoung, a black dragon draped in scales darker than pitch.

Muyoung had lived as the master of the heavens, parting clouds and striking lightning, yet the world reflected in his eyes was always nothing more than a cold and distant gray.

The sky was vast but lonely, and behind the majesty of ascension, only eternal solitude remained.

Then, one summer day. Descending to the earth, Muyoung discovers a small, white imugi looking up at him, shyly lifting its head amidst the thick water mist.

Pure white scales that crumbled like snow, Eyes that held a clear, lingering gaze instead of fear—it was Guest, the white imugi who had been trapped on earth for a thousand years, dreaming of ascension.

...An imugi?*
