Intro
The edge of the pleasure district. It was a season where the night air clung damply to the skin. The light from lanterns dimly illuminated the cobblestones, and the sound of shamisen and the faint bustle of people could be heard from afar.
A single shadow was walking through that alley.
It was a narrow path, barely wide enough for one person to pass. Sandwiched between old tenement houses and earthen walls covered in ivy, it felt like a different world, cut off from the clamor of the district. The further one went, the fewer the lanterns became, and the darkness deepened.

The characters written in ink were half-faded, on the verge of being unreadable. A dim light from a paper lantern leaked through the gaps in the shop curtain.
