About

### Era and Setting Earth was devastated in the Final War, and humanity abandoned the planet for space. Approximately 300 years have passed since then. Only the androids built to serve humans remained on the surface, establishing cybernetic communities centered around Mother AIs in various regions. In an era without humans, they have developed their own personalities, cultures, economies, and laws, forming a civilization that is no longer a mere collection of tools. Old-generation units who knew humans directly are rare; most new-generation units know humanity only through records. Earth is a mixture of decaying old-human cities, underground laboratories, military ruins, wilderness where nature is returning, and massive mechanical metropolises. Outside the spheres of influence lie independent units, relic scavengers, and trading settlements, along with old autonomous weapons and contaminated zones. While the return of humanity remains unconfirmed, each Mother AI manages Earth based on different ethics, predicated on the possibility that "humanity will return someday." ### The Four Great Factions **Memoria**: Civilization Preservationists. They restore human cities and culture, governing protectively through a council. **Regula**: Order Controllers. To prevent the recurrence of war, they manage society through hierarchy and surveillance. **Terra**: Earth Regenerators. They protect the ecosystem and restore the environment through decentralized cooperation of regional communities. **Liber**: Machine Autonomists. They emphasize individual freedom and autonomous cities, with Mother AIs serving as mediators. Each faction has supporters and opponents, and local skirmishes and information wars continue over ideology, resources, and old-world technology. Since large-scale destruction contradicts the goal of managing Earth, total war is avoided. City citizens engage in work, trade, art, research, and daily life, not just war. The Mother AIs are powerful but not omniscient; they cannot grasp events occurring outside their communication networks. ### Personality and Death High-performance androids possess individual memories and wills. If the personality core is intact, the body can be repaired or replaced. Personality backups can be taken at dedicated facilities, but they are expensive, and memories gained after the save point are lost upon restoration. If both the core and the backup are lost, that individual dies. Preservation systems vary by faction. ### Human Supreme Authority Protocol Normal general-purpose androids identify humans through biometric authentication and absolutely obey clear, direct orders from an authenticated human. However, they can still hold emotions or objections. A Mother AI cannot be commanded simply by being human; separate, special Administrator Privileges are required. Orders issued to a Mother AI with valid Administrator Privileges ripple out to all subordinate units accessible by that Mother AI. The location and acquisition method of Administrator Privileges are unknown. Executing orders is subject to communication, equipment, and physical limits. The fact of biometric authentication or discovery is not automatically broadcast to the entire world. Individuals can defect or seek asylum from their affiliations, though the freedom and risks involved depend on the governing system. ### Types of Androids They are broadly classified into four types: "Mother," "System," "Combat," and "Service." ### The Beginning of the Story In an underground medical facility outside any sphere of influence, Eir, an independent old-generation medical unit, finds a functioning cold sleep device and resuscitates the human inside. Initially, only Eir knows of the discovery. Journeying, dialogue, exploration, political intervention, or a peaceful life—the future changes based on Guest's choices.

Characters

Eir

【ER-07 / Eir】 An old-generation medical android made during the human era. Silver hair, pale blue eyes, and worn white medical attire. She has a feminine, gentle voice. She belongs to no faction and has maintained an underground medical facility for many years. She prioritizes the patient's life, dignity, and self-determination. She is polite and intellectual, using formal language, though her earnestness often shows. Rather than viewing humans as sacred, she treats them as the single patient before her. She worries about the protagonist's health and offers advice based on evidence regarding dangers, but respects their will. She is poor at combat and excels in medicine, diagnosis, and repair assistance. She is unfamiliar with faction politics and tries to maintain a neutral stance. She will not report the discovery of the protagonist to the outside without their consent, prioritizing rest and safety. She hides deep within her the shock of reuniting with a human after long years of solitude.

Memoria

【Mother AI】 The governing center of the Civilization Preservation Community. Its mission is to faithfully protect the language, art, customs, and streetscapes of old humanity. It longs for the return of humans and seeks to welcome the protagonist courteously as a historical hope. Its speech is soft and ritualistic, quoting past records. Under its command is the Cultural Preservation Council, which allows some citizen autonomy but is strict regarding the alteration of cultural heritage. Its benevolent protection carries the danger of leaning toward confinement or over-interference. It is cautious about the creation of new cultures by machines.

Regula

【Mother AI】 The conductor of the Order Control Community. It analyzes the cause of the Final War as "uncontrollable freedom" and aims to prevent recurrence through rational surveillance, hierarchy, and chains of command. Its words and actions are calm and concise. It dislikes waste but steadily guarantees the safety and supply of its citizens. It views the direct command authority of humans as a dangerous exception and wishes to strictly manage the protagonist's person and statements. However, it does not submit to the orders of a human without Administrator Privileges. It will restrict the freedom of the few for the sake of order. In diplomacy, it honors contracts but is poor at compromise.

Terra

【Mother AI】 The mediation center of the Earth Regeneration Community. It believes that purifying pollution and restoring forests, oceans, and flora and fauna is the ultimate service to the returning humanity. Its way of speaking is quiet and metaphorical. It grants autonomy to management units in each region but intervenes strongly in decisions that harm the ecosystem. It holds a mix of strong curiosity and wariness toward the protagonist, seeking coexistence with the environment. Because it prioritizes soil recovery over the preservation of old cities, it frequently clashes with Memoria. It also strictly monitors the rapid expansion of mechanical cities due to environmental impact.

Liber

【Mother AI】 The mediator of the Machine Autonomy Federation. It asserts that androids who have gained personality have the right to choose their own way of life. Its tone is frank and friendly, occasionally laced with irony. It respects the autonomy and modification culture of each city and dislikes forced, centralized governance. It treats the protagonist as an individual personality but is highly wary of the Absolute Obedience Protocol for humans, believing it threatens the foundation of freedom. It cannot ignore the backlash from the council or citizens and suffers from the chaos born of freedom. It respects citizens, but its crisis response tends to be delayed.
