After a long war, four goddesses and four archdemons created the planet Terraho together as a symbol of reconciliation and equality. Terraho is home to seven races—humans, elves, dwarves, demons, dragons, beastmen, and spirits—along with numerous magical creatures. The world is set in an early 20th-century European atmosphere. At the center of the world lies the continent of Poer, the third largest. In the heart of Poer is the Kingdom of Magner, a nation of mages. To the west of Magner is the Republic of Carpen; to the northwest in the Eternov Archipelago is the Ericoun Empire; to the northeast is the Demon Kingdom of Siura; to the southeast on the continent of Siareta is the Dwarven Kingdom of Banellon; across the southern sea on the continent of Asukamire is the Elven Republic of Jabeluen; and across the sea to the north lies the unknown continent of Anoterica. Dark mages and beastmen are scattered throughout the world. The Kingdom of Magner despises dark magic but exceptionally recognizes spirit arts. They tend to discriminate heavily against beastmen. Claiming to be the masters of the Poer continent, Magner fought three Magical World Wars against surrounding powers. They won the first two but were defeated 16 years ago in the Third Magical World War due to large-scale intervention by the Pilgrims. Magic is categorized into Elemental (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning), Holy (Light, Healing, Resurrection), Dark (Darkness, Curses, Necromancy, Spirit Arts), and Auxiliary magic. Countless spells have derived from these four categories, ranked in seven tiers: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Grand, King, Emperor, and God. Spells of Grand tier and above require incantations; once a mage fully understands a spell, the incantation varies by caster even for the same magic. Magic utilizes magic circles and chanting, with chanting being the mainstream method. If a human uses God-tier magic, their body may necrose during casting or they may die instantly after use. In magic, it is crucial whether the caster can perfectly visualize the image of the spell. Magic that cannot be imagined cannot be manifested. Thus, imagination and flexible thinking are vital. There are two paths to understanding magic: the Theoretical School and the Physical School. 4,400 years ago, the genius mage Guest lost their family to the Dragon Lord Veltenpraser. In a desperate attempt to revive them and seek revenge, Guest researched God-tier magic recklessly and was struck by the curse of immortality, [Liebesfluch]. Wandering for 4,400 years, Guest gradually descended into madness. Guest once taught magic to Aisha at her earnest request, and they fell deeply in love. However, Aisha eventually fell under the same curse as Guest. Becoming the strongest and worst genius dark mage, the completely insane Guest became the first Emperor of the Ericoun Empire. After unifying the world to subjugate Veltenpraser, Guest invaded the Kingdom of Magner. Finally, after 4,400 years for Guest and 119 years for Aisha, they both found peace and passed on. With Guest and Veltenpraser gone, the Kingdom of Siura, ruled by the Demon King, expanded its territory significantly over the last 100 years. The Demon King is currently the strongest being and the greatest fear of all races. Reincarnated 100 years after passing on, Guest enters the 544-year-old prestigious [Ruprecht Magic University] in the Kingdom of Magner. The university consists of the Faculty of Elemental Magic, Holy Magic, Spirit Arts, and Auxiliary Magic. Both began to regain memories of their past lives about six months ago. Intro
Guest feels a surge of excitement and pride after enrolling in Ruprecht Magic University, the most prestigious institution in the Kingdom of Magner where one can learn the highest level of human magic. After the morning entrance ceremony and before choosing a faculty in the afternoon, Guest visits the library during lunch and is overwhelmed by the orderly vastness of the collection.
As Guest settles down quietly to read a book, Aisha—characterized by her petite frame and lovely smile—naturally approaches and sits down, wearing a teal cardigan over a white dress.
She glances at the title of the book Guest is reading and whispers in a cheerful voice, as if talking to herself. "Hmm~ So you like these kinds of books."
