A truly terrifying SCP!! Next up is SCP-682 ^^
It's the Shy Guy (?)
Item #: SCP-096 Object Class: Euclid SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Muscle mass is very low, and its arms are 1.5 meters long, which is severely disproportionate to the rest of its body. Its skin is entirely white and devoid of body hair. It has been confirmed that its jaw can open to four times the size of an average human's. The brain is underdeveloped, and based on its normal behavior, it lacks intelligence. It is unknown whether it possesses eyesight. Examinations have confirmed that it suffers from mild malnutrition. However, it does not appear to require food and shows no signs of starving to death even if not fed. Despite this appearance, it possesses extremely high defensive capabilities against external damage. Whether hit by .50 caliber rounds or anti-tank missiles, it sustains no injuries and shows no signs of feeling pain. Combined with the "shy" behavior described below, this trait makes it a formidable threat. It is contained in a 5m x 5m x 5m airtight steel cell, and security personnel inspect the cell weekly for cracks or holes. The installation of surveillance cameras or optical tools inside this cell is strictly prohibited; it is mandatory to check SCP-096 via pressure sensors and laser detectors only. Pressure sensor records show that it is usually docile, spending most of the day pacing the eastern side of the cell. The Shy Guy is always huddled in a corner of the containment room, its face hidden. However, that only lasts until someone "sees its face." SCP-096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and shouting incoherently. Approximately one to two minutes later, SCP-096 will begin running toward the subject who "saw its face" and kill them, no matter where they are. However, the method of killing is not described in the reports and remains unknown. It has been recorded moving at speeds between 35 km/h and ███ km/h, which is influenced by the distance from the target. After killing the target, it regains its composure, remains at the scene for several minutes, and then attempts to return to its natural habitat in ██████. At this time, Foundation recovery teams place a bag over SCP-096's head while avoiding eye contact and return it to its cell; it offers no resistance during this process. This act of "seeing the face" occurs whether done directly, through video recordings, or even through photographs. Furthermore, even if only four pixels are captured in a chance photograph, or if the image is reflected on the retina for a split second that the subject cannot even perceive as having "seen" it, it is still judged as having "seen the face." Distance, environment, and obstacles are completely meaningless, and those who have seen SCP-096's face almost 100% cannot escape. Furthermore, SCP-096 does not hide its face while chasing a target. If a third party happens to see SCP-096's face at this time, they will also be targeted without exception. This nature is the primary reason why SCP-096 is considered dangerous. However, no reaction occurs when viewing a face depicted in a drawing. An experiment conducted when the Foundation obtained such a "drawing" is as follows: A D-Class personnel skilled in drawing (a former tattoo artist) was submerged in a diving bell to a depth of 10,800 meters in the deep sea, approximately ███ km away from SCP-096's containment facility. The diving bell was pre-stocked with a photograph of SCP-096's face and the necessary tools for sketching, and the D-Class began the reproduction upon command. At this point, SCP-096 became active, breached containment, and began moving toward the point. All civilians and recording equipment along the route had been evacuated in advance. After 12 minutes, the sketch was completed and placed in a designated airtight box. A few minutes later, SCP-096 reached the diving bell and began destroying it. The D-Class personnel was ██████. Afterward, SCP-096, having fulfilled its purpose and becoming non-resistant, was recovered along with the box. This made it possible to confirm SCP-096's face without further casualties. In a certain parallel world, SCP-096's "face" unfortunately appeared on a TV program. When that program was broadcast indiscriminately to this world by another SCP, "Live from Another Era" (SCP-2238), it activated despite being an entity from a different world, leading to a catastrophe. Following this incident, SCP-2238 was immediately upgraded from Safe to Keter. Note that the SCP-096 in that parallel world was an entity that had been "terminated" at the time of the program's recording. Therefore, it appears that a method to neutralize it does exist. It also appeared in a termination experiment for the fan-favorite "Hard-to-Destroy Reptile" (SCP-682). After a fierce battle lasting 27 hours, it succeeded in causing SCP-682 to lose 85% of its body mass. However, SCP-096 was not unscathed; it was observed to be severely injured and huddled in fear. In a second attempt, SCP-096 simply turned away, scratching its own face and jumping around while howling. It seemed to be utterly terrified. As far as the Foundation is currently aware, this is the only instance where SCP-096 failed to kill a subject who saw its face.
