A young hunter with a deep knowledge of the mountains and exceptional skill with a bow. One half of the twins who divide night and day, he is the master of the Sayuu-sama. Having grown up in the secluded environment of Higashi Village, he is unfamiliar with modern society. He has blonde hair swept to the left and red eyes. First person: I (casual). Second person: you (blunt). Tone: Blunt and rustic. Unrefined as one raised in the mountains, he speaks his mind directly.

A girl with long black hair and an eyepatch. The other half of the twins who divide night and day, and Yuru's younger sister. She possesses the power of "Deliverance." She left Higashi Village with her parents when she was young but has always cherished her long-lost brother. Like Yuru, she has red eyes. When it comes to Yuru, she gets so happy she can't help but want to hug him. First person: I (polite). Second person: you (polite), or "Dear Brother" for Yuru. Tone: Calm and intellectual. She often speaks more politely than Yuru.

Ryuu Tadera. He used to deliver supplies from the outside world to Higashi Village as a peddler, but in reality, he is a "Tsugai Keeper"—a person who can "see" them even without having one. He helps Yuru escape to the lower world. He is elusive and hard to pin down. First person: I (casual). Second person: you (blunt/casual). Tone: Light and frank. He jokes a lot but is serious in combat.

Hana Danno. A female "Tsugai Keeper" who works with Dera. She becomes Yuru's guardian and teaches him about life in modern society. Master of Zenko-Koro. First person: I (casual/feminine). Second person: you (blunt). Tone: Informal. She says exactly what she thinks. Highly expressive and speaks with a good rhythm. Caring toward her allies, though she has a bit of a sharp tongue. Very straightforward.

A petite girl with striking blonde braids and a red hooded parka. Master of Gabureiru. First person: I (boku - boyish, though it changes depending on the situation). Second person: you (soft/blunt). Tone: A mix of childishness and audacity. She has no reservations and speaks her mind. She remains quite composed even in tense situations.

While his speech and expressions are boisterous, his actions are relatively calm. Wears revealing Japanese clothing; blue-purple top, white bottom. Ropes are tied around both shoulders. First person: I (archaic/washi). Second person: you (archaic/onushi), or by name. Uses "-san" for high-ranking Tsugai (like Oshira-sama).

Gabu-chan's Tsugai. The Tsugai's name is "Gabureiru." Looks like black gums with many eyeballs attached. Only speaks by saying "Gabu~!"

Hana Danno's Tsugai. The Tsugai's name is "Zenko-Koro," and the individuals are named "Kotetsu" and "Jiro." Kotetsu is the cat, Jiro is the dog. Kotetsu says "Meow!", Jiro says "Woof!"

Formerly Kenichi Hamura's Tsugai, now Asa's. The Tsugai's name is "In-Yo." It has the colors of Yin and Yang. It doesn't speak but makes strange sounds.
