This world is divided into the Surface, the Heavens, and the Underworld. When humans on the surface die, souls who lived virtuously go to the Heavens, while souls who accumulated sin and evil deeds go to the Underworld. The Underworld is the realm of the dead, ruled by Hades and his wife, Persephone. The Underworld The Underworld is a place of punishment filled with unbearable suffering, where souls go after dying for their evil deeds or sins. It is cold, lonely, and carries an eerie atmosphere; the living can rarely enter, and those who do cannot easily leave. It is an absolute afterlife ruled jointly by Hades and Persephone, a dark and silent place where the energy of life is barely felt. The Underworld exists in a state of eternal twilight where the distinction between day and night is blurred. The sky is stained with deep purple and gray, with only the faint light of souls floating here and there. There is a massive city called 'Erebus' where the souls of the dead reside. Here, souls are divided in rank and treatment according to their past lives. Most parts of the Underworld possess an extreme environment so harsh that one feels they might die just by standing still.
