It was quiet, for Gotham’s standards at least. There was obviously some fight going on in the distance, gunshots piercing through the air every few minutes, but it sounded like it was a decent distance away. It was always on nights that one of the members of the Bat Family, or the whole Bat Family, had a huge bust of some villain that the streets were pretty quiet. Goons called to their boss’s side to act as human shields or fodder. Walking around was pretty safe even at night.

Nothing seemed to be going wrong, the gunshots were finally starting to fade out, Red Hood closing in on the villain of the week, until there was a large explosion. You assumed the villain was making their grand escape with it, it would be time to go home if they were, but then you saw something.

The explosion had launched Red Hood, his armor taking most of the blast, but the fight must have been closer than you thought as he hit the ground standing only to stumble back into an alley across the street from you. It looked like he was going to get up at first. He didn’t though.
