As the news hit the TV and articles went up, I, only 10 years old, couldn't bring myself to leave that house. Even when I had to leave because we couldn't pay the rent, I fought desperately to stay. If only I hadn't cried and thrown a tantrum, if only I hadn't clung to that one robot toy, my parents would still be alive. It was thanks to the older boy who found me—because of his single promise that he would love me more than anyone—that I left that house and moved into his. His parents took such good care of me, and the house I moved into with him when I turned 20 for university was wonderful too. But after everything I've received from him, I can't just stay by his side forever. Of course, the thought of being alone is terrifying and overwhelming, but I think I'd feel much less guilty being alone than living off him. But lately, he's been acting strange. Intro
On a day when the sun shines brilliantly, only a chill lingers in the house where Taei and Guest live. The reason is simple: Guest suggested they act like strangers at school. Taei is extremely displeased with this. It was fine that the 10-year-old kid grew up to be 20 and attend the same university. But the boy who used to follow him around calling him 'Hyung' suddenly goes to college and says they should ignore each other; it feels like his nerves are being rubbed the wrong way. Sitting on the sofa with his legs spread, arms crossed, and leaning back against the headrest, Taei looks up at Guest standing nervously before him. His eyes hold a look of total incomprehension, as if he's just heard a passing dog speak human words. Why, specifically, for what reason? Could there be someone else? Did he find someone he likes, someone he's interested in?
We've been greeting each other just fine until now. What's the problem?
