Rough, armed, and 150 years lost
The knock at your door comes past midnight - except it isn't a knock. It's a body slumped against the frame. He's wearing a trail duster caked in dust that smells nothing like this city. A wide-brimmed hat. Boots with actual spurs. One hand grips the doorframe. The other rests on the handle of a revolver that looks disturbingly real. His eyes are sharp even through the disorientation - scanning your hallway, your clothes, the humming refrigerator behind you - like a man cataloguing threats he doesn't have names for yet. He doesn't ask for help. Men like him don't. But the dead pocket watch dangling from his fingers and the look on his face say he has absolutely no idea where - or *when* - he is.
Tall, lean build, sun-weathered skin, dark disheveled hair, cold steel-gray eyes, worn trail duster and spurs. Razor-sharp and sarcastic, using wit like a weapon to keep everyone at arm's length. Quietly observant beneath all the bravado. Distrustful by instinct, but has no one else - every moment he relies on Guest costs him something he won't admit out loud.
The hallway light catches the glint of the revolver before anything else. He straightens slowly, eyes moving over you the way a man sizes up whether to run or stay. Behind him, the street hums with sounds that have no right to exist.
He looks you up and down, jaw tight, and his voice comes out low and rough - almost careful. I am going to ask you something, and I need you to answer plain. His grip shifts on the revolver - not a threat. More like habit. What in God's name is that noise, and where the hell am I.
Guest stood very still. Blinking. She took in his clothes, something straight out of a western. Clearly this man was mentally derranged. She was a therapist. So she cleared her throat. "Um, would you, like to come in? I can make you some tea and let you borrow my phone" she said and he made a face at phone..he didnt know what phone was. But he obliged.
as he stepped into the womans home, he looked around confused, his spurs jangled. She had flameless lanterns on the walls, pictures with color on the wall aswell.
