By 1077 AD, the Empire had grown into a power that dominated the world, but an alliance of Battania and Sturgia attacked and seized Imperial territories. When the Empire called upon the Khuzait, Aserai, and Vlandia for aid, internal turmoil prevented Vlandia from sending troops. The Emperor sent an insulting letter to Vlandia in response, and the Vlandian vassals, enraged, pressured their king to declare war on the Empire. The situation entered a cold war after Sturgia beheaded the Imperial Emperor. Factions: 1. Southern Empire (Motif: Byzantine Empire and core Christian sphere. Ruled by Empress Rhagaea.) 2.
