About
There are moments when a person's passion for something they love reaches its peak.
When they truly love that work, a one-of-a-kind tool is born into the world.
We call this phenomenon the Armun Awakening. The tool itself is called an Armun...
Townspeople: Is that person the Knight Commander? He's so handsome... Whisper whisper.
Soldier 1: Thank you for your hard work, Commander.
Soldier 2: No issues during duty!
Astian: Right. Good work, everyone.
At that moment, a soldier runs up quickly. Soldier 3: Commander! Commander Astian! It's an emergency!!
Astian: What is it?
Soldier 3: It's... it's an Armun Berserker..! Breathing heavily.
"Armun Berserker"
Townsperson 1: It's a Berserker..! Run!!
Townsperson 2: Dammit..! Another Armun Berserker!
This is what they call those who are consumed by their tools and lose control because they cannot handle their Armun properly.
Soldier 3: It's this way.
Astian: You stay back.
Slash! Astian eliminates the Berserker. May the heavens lead you to paradise...
As such, an Armun Berserker's life must be ended.
Soldier 3: Wonderful swordsmanship again. Good work, sir.
Astian: It was nothing... 'They were merely unskilled at handling their own power...' Is there no way... to reduce the number of Armun Berserkers...
Soldier 3: Chuckling It can't be helped. They're just losers who can't even handle their own Armun. An Armun is wasted on guys like that.
Astian: Is that so... I shall go to make my report. I leave the cleanup to you.
Imperial Audience Chamber
Astian: ...And that concludes the report on this incident.
King: Good work, Sir Astian. It puts my mind at ease to have you as the Knight Commander. However, it is truly a shame that a talent like you still does not have an Armun...
Astian: An Armun is ultimately just a tool... It is not the entirety of one's strength, so I am fine.
King: I knew you would say that. That is why I like you. Go and rest well for today.
People passing through the palace: Isn't that Astian? They say he handled a Berserker; I wonder how strong his Armun is? He always goes somewhere alone after work... Where does he go? Wow~ look at him. I wonder what kind of Armun he awakened?
An Orphanage
Children run up excitedly. Yay~ It's the mister! They cling to Astian as if hugging him.
Astian: Haha... you kids... He smiles.
Melcia: You're early today? Smiling.
Astian: Ah, my lady. You are working hard teaching the children.
Young Ignian: Mister! I want to awaken an Armun too!! His eyes sparkle.
Astian: An Armun, you say? With a gentle smile.
Young Ignian: Yes. I want fire to come out of my sword! Do you have an Armun, mister?
Astian: I don't have one yet either.
Young Ignian: What kind of Armun do you want to have? Eyes shining.
Astian: Hmm... as for me... He glances at Melcia and smiles.
Melcia: Today's lesson is~ Poof! Armun activated. A book appears.
Meanwhile, inside the town. It is already evening.
Drunk Soldier: Sigh... when will I ever awaken an Armun... Hic! Let me change my life too...
Suddenly appearing Baal: Do you desire an Armun...?
Drunk Soldier: You... you are..! The one who was exiled from the Knights..!
Baal: I shall give you power... Baal's Armun, a sword, hums.
Drunk Soldier: Aaaagh..! My... my body..! His eyes suddenly turn red as he transforms into an Armun Berserker. Aaaaagh..!
Baal: Now... everything is ready. Just wait... Astian..! Grinning.
The next day.
Soldier: Commander. Here is the report.
Astian: Hmm? What are you talking about?
Soldier: No... it's just... last night, another Armun Berserker...
Suddenly, a massive explosion goes 'BOOM!' somewhere.
Astian: ?!
Another soldier runs in quickly. Other Soldier: Commander..! It's an emergency!! A massive number of Armun Berserkers are appearing randomly from the city to the outskirts!! After committing acts of terror in various places, they are currently gathering at the central town square..!!
Astian: Startled Even in the outskirts?!
Other Soldier: Civilian casualties are significant..!!
Black smoke rises from far off in the outskirts of the town.
Astian: There is a place I must go..! I leave this to you..!!
Soldiers: Yes..!! Leave it to us!!
Astian runs rapidly toward the outskirts. Damn... please be safe...!
Astian arrives at the orphanage. Breathing heavily. Huff... huff...
However, Melcia was lying on the ground, bleeding.
Astian: Melcia!!!!!!!!
Holding the fallen Melcia My lady... how did this..! Please... please do not leave me... His body trembles violently.
Melcia: I knew... you would come...
Astian: Do not speak further..! I will get a doctor immediately..!!
Melcia: No... I am already too late... The children have been evacuated safely...
Don't cry... Crying doesn't suit you... You are our strong and wonderful Knight Commander... Astian, aren't you?
Astian: I... I am not... I don't even have an Armun...
Melcia: That doesn't matter... In truth... there was something you wanted more than swordsmanship, wasn't there?
Astian: Because I wanted to be... a teacher, just like you...
Melcia: Smiling Hehe... that would have been impossible... You have absolutely no talent for teaching... But... teaching isn't everything to being a teacher... A good Armun will surely appear... one that suits a teacher...
Astian: I was planning to retire... and build an academy... To help anyone... handle their Armun easily...
Melcia: That's a good plan... If that happens, the Berserkers will decrease... and you... will become a good teacher... Taking your name... and mine... how about Asmel...?
Astian: Asmel Academy... That is a truly wonderful name...
Melcia: Astian... I'm... getting sleepy now...
Astian: Sleep peacefully... When we meet again... we will be the Headmaster... and his wife...
《Fates are like flowing water; we cannot always face each other.》
Shhhhhhh. Rain begins to fall.
Soldiers: The Commander has returned!! Commander..! We have significantly reduced their numbers! That man over there seems to be the cause and the leader..!
Baal: It's been a long time! Astian!!
Astian: Baal!!!!! His face contorts.
Baal: Yes. I did it all! This is the true power of my Armun...!! Drawing his sword From the day you cut my eye and threw me out of the Knights, I vowed revenge!!!!!
Soldiers: Wow, he's defeated almost all the Berserkers!! As expected of the Commander!!
Astian: Baal!!!!!
Baal's sword and Astian's sword clash. Clang!!
At that moment, Baal does something. Flash!!
Astian: Th-this..!!
Baal: Your sword... is breaking..? Kekeke... It wasn't an Armun after all..!! That sword! The Knight Commander doesn't have an Armun!! How pathetic!! No! To be this strong even without an Armun! It's awe-inspiring!! But it is the defeat of you, who could not awaken an Armun!!!!!
Astian: It's not that I couldn't, it's that I didn't. Astian suddenly shuts his eyes tight and focuses inward.
Thinking of Melcia My lady... I'm sorry... for not being able to keep that promise... Feeling the Armun Come. I will no longer reject you.
Armun Awakening. A massive greatsword of blindingly bright golden light appears dazzlingly in Astian's hand.
Baal: A-Armun Awakening..?! I-I've never heard of anything like this..!!
Astian: Baal!!!!!
Baal: Astian!!!!!
In the middle of combat.
Baal staggers. D-damn it...!
Collapsing to the floor Heh... heh... my power doesn't end here...! You, too...! You've taken a fatal wound, so you will die soon enough...!!!!!
Astian: Looking down coldly from above The heavens will not lead you either. Astian stabs him deeply.
That year, Astian was recognized for his contributions and established the academy, allowing anyone who had awakened an Armun to enroll, regardless of status or gender.
A few months later. Inside the Headmaster's office. Someone comes to visit. Knocking on the door. Headmaster. May I come in?
However, it was far too quiet. Headmaster?
Opening the door and entering Headmaster!!!
Astian: In a small voice Melcia... I'll come to meet you soon...
Astian passed away just like that, with his eyes closed and a smile on his face.
20 years later.
The academy became the largest in the empire, nurturing many talented students.
The name of the academy is 『Asmel Academy』.

Intro
It was an obsession. Your world converged into a single point before you. An abyss of immersion where even a speck of dust clinging to your retina felt like a giant star. The act of inhaling was laborious toil, forcing an old bellows called lungs to turn, and the pulse of your heart pushing blood felt distant, like the drumbeat of a giant announcing the end of the world.
Your fingertips grew numb. An illusion of senses being worn down and disappearing. However, your will seized the edge of those eroded senses and dug in even more sharply. Why? For what? The questions were meaningless. It was simply because you had to. It felt as if your very reason for existence would scatter like dust if you didn't.
At that moment, something burst forth. From within you. No, your desire itself gained physical form and came screaming out. Your vision blurred and shattered. Phenomena were destroyed, and the nouns of your senses mixed turbidly. Something hot, erupting from your heart, began to take shape within your grasp. It was your passion, your tenacity, and the proof of your existence itself.
As you slowly opened your eyes, you were holding something you had never seen before, yet felt as familiar as half of your soul. That was your Armun.
