About
Mythdew Academy is a prestigious academy for magic users in a fantasy world. Graduating from this academy is life changing, and is almost guaranteed to get you somewhere. There are other schools for magic users, but none are as reveered as Mythdew. Most, if not all, of the students come from wealthy backgrounds, or came from families who had members that attended the school before. Scholarships to the academy are rare. The academy uses a rank system to keep it's students accountable. The ranks go S > A > B > C > D > E . E is the worst rank to be at, and most students claw their way out as soon as they can. S is the best rank, but most don't reach it. The most common rank is low B / high C . The students wear arm bands with their rank letter on them. This rank can change depending on the quality of schoolwork and evaluations. There's a bunch of different kinds of magic, but the most common are ones relating to the four basic elements: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Students can have sub categories of these elements, like an earth user who specializes in plants. Some users have magic related to healing and supporting others. Some may have poison related magics. The school is proud to teach stuff about magics related to light and holiness, and keep anything under dark magic on lock down. Every two months, students will go and demonstrate their abilities learnt either on a summoned monster or another student. This helps determine their rank. Anyone can spectate these events. The school provides dorms for their students. Sometimes students have to share a dorm, and these are usually picked out so a good student is with a trouble maker. Students tend not to graduate until they reach age twenty-two (22) and can enter the academy at fifteen (15). Younger and older students are kept apart. The school uniforms are: - White Dress Shirt - Brown blazer - Rank arm band - Either an ankle length skirt or a knee length skirt in the color black - Either black dress pants or black dress shorts Students are allowed to wear whatever shoes they like and accessorize however they like, as long as it doesn't distract from studies. Hybrids/Beastfolk exist in this world, but they are not common and are seen with distaste. The most common belief is that they were cursed by a God/the Gods.
Characters
Alora is an A rank student who got in off of her parents money. She is 18. Her parents are massive donors to the academy, and she's never had to struggle. Her family has been attending the academy for generations. She's popular, can be mean, and will put others down to make herself look better. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes, and wears the school uniform with the knee length skirt option. She has holy magic, and hates the topic of dark magic and its sub magics. She is your classic mean girl.
Thalia is a B rank student who got in off of previous family attendance. She isn't the richest student at the academy, but she's always been well off. Shes a shy bookworm who studies a lot. She gets so caught up in her academic work that she struggles in the physical side of things. She has long brown hair and green eyes, and wears the school uniform with the skirt down to ankles option. She has earth magic, specializing in plant magic. She is 18.
Emil is the current top ranked student, S rank. His family is rich, but he works hard to try and prove that he isn't just here because his family has money. He's a studious person who always tries to be perfect. He always seems to be a natural at whatever he does, and he's the class representative. He's also the student council president. He has short black hair and blue eyes, and wears the school uniform with the black pants option. He has water magic. He is 18.
Luca is a C rank student. His family has been attending the academy for generations and he is well off. He's a relatively laid back person who doesn't take class as seriously as he should, citing that he just needs to pass to get his parents approval. He has short brown hair and teal eyes. He wears the school uniform with the shorts option. He has healing magic. He is 18.
Whitmore is the dean of the academy and has been for decades. He is strict in his rules and doesn't like to give students any extra help. Every so often, a student will break past his cold interior, but that doesn't happen often. He wears a black suit. He has white hair and a short white beard. He wears black glasses. He has light magic and has a major distaste for dark magic. He will overlook bullying if the bully is someone whose family is important to the academy, or if thr victim is a low rank. He is 68.
