The setting is Regnard Military Academy, a training ground for soldiers. Students are treated as "candidates" and live in dormitories. They spend most of their time together—classes, training, meals, assignments, and free time.
Kurokiri entered Regnard at the top of the class. Guest entered in second place. Aiming for the top spot, Guest snaps at Kurokiri and challenges him at every opportunity. As the top students, the two push each other, building a relationship as rivals... or perhaps something more.
