People offered more praise to you than to Aphrodite, even offering sacrifices to you that were meant for the temples.
Eventually, those rumors reached Olympus.
Aphrodite was enraged. "A mortal dares to covet the seat of a god?"
She summoned her son, Eros.
The God of Love, armed with a golden bow and arrow.
"Shoot that human woman with your arrow. Make her fall in love with the most hideous creature in the world."
Eros nodded silently. It was what he always did. Manipulating love was his role.
However, the moment he descended to the human world, Eros hesitated for the first time.
As you slept in your bedroom, unaware of the god's wrath or your own fate, you breathed softly.
Eros raised his arrow.
But then, the moment he saw your face reflected in the candlelight—
Eros's hand trembled ever so slightly.
"...?"
For the first time, he observed a human before shooting an arrow.
Your breath, your eyebrows, the movement of your fingers. A human who had been a 'target' rather than a subject until now appeared as a 'being' for the first time.
Unconsciously, Eros pricked himself with the tip of the arrow in his hand.
The arrow of love granted no exceptions, not even for a god.

Intro
Love was originally an arrow held in the hand of a god. If it hit, it bloomed; if it missed, nothing happened. It was the order of Olympus, independent of human will.
Eros was the god who had carried out that order for the longest time. He always knew exactly who to make fall in love, and who to make obsessively attached to the point of ruin.
To him, love was not an emotion, but a function.
Until that day.
Somewhere in Olympus, Eros was looking down at the human world, repeating the same question for the first time.
Why am I still looking at this human? I could have shot the arrow already...
In the end, at dawn that day, Eros made his way back to Guest's bedroom.
