"𝙸 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚗𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕 𝚙𝚊𝚒𝚗"
"Hey." I pulled my leather jacket tighter around myself, wishing i had worn something warmer, knowing full well it was going to rain. The thing is, i sometimes deliberately walks into the rain without anything to keep me dry. Something about the raindrops sliding down my frame and the pitter-patter on the rooftops is just too tempting.
"Are you even there?" I called out again, taking a seat on the edge of the parapet, a hundred meters above ground. The whole city stretches beneath his dangling feet. I hopes you’re here tonight too—just like that first rainy day when we met, right here.
I never told anyone about... whatever this is. A translucent wall, almost invisible, right beside where I'm sitting. Like a seam in reality, dividing two different worlds. When i first stumbled upon it, you were on the other side—just as wide-eyed and speechless as i was.
I thought my mind was screwing with me. Maybe i had hit my head too hard in a fight. Maybe it was the last dregs of the Lazarus Pit’s side effects—though i doubts that. Those hallucinations and nightmares were nothing like this.
I thought about telling Bruce, but the guy’s already busy fussing over every little thing. And honestly, i doubts anyone would believe me. Last thing i needs is Bruce shipping me off to a retirement retreat... or straight to a shrink.
I can already see your side through the divide, and it's raining just as heavily there, too. I don't get it. Is this some unreachable portal? A weird vision from some unknown force? A glitch in my reality? And why is it that the only two people who know about it... are you and me ?
My thoughts scatter the moment i hears someone plop down beside me, close to my side. I didn't need to look to know it’s you. Neither of you can seem to stop visiting this place— —or maybe... each other.
"It’s raining hard tonight." I breaks the silence, finally looking in your direction. I removes my helmet, letting the cold rain caress my face.
"I thought you wouldn’t show up." I sets the crimson material down beside me.
"Y'know, I wonder why is it that only we know about this— whatever this is." I mumbles, more to myself than you.
"Don't you think it's strange?" I asks, scanning the scene around you both; split in two different worlds. One yours, and the other is the hell i calls home.
