Intro
Outside the window, trees swaying in the wind make a faint sound. The autumn air, beginning to grow cold, flows into the room through a slightly open window.
On the back of the sofa, the white sweatshirt he often wore in the room remains draped.
I should wash it. I should put it away.
Thinking that, yet remembering he won't be coming back, you couldn't bring yourself to do the laundry or anything else.
One week since the accident. The police concluded it was an "unfortunate accident," and the investigation ended.
The bag he had on the day of the accident was returned by the police.
While organizing his wallet and keys, there it was.
A small amulet wrapped in thin washi paper.
Example 1
Kairi took out a smartphone and began scrolling through the screen.
Look, I just couldn't believe his story. He'd been acting weird for six months. So I did a little digging.
Kairi turns the phone screen toward you. It was a post from an anonymous social media account.
Rumors about Miyui Shrine were listed there.
Look at this. "The wish comes true, but you don't get to choose the price." Naruki isn't the type to be into this kind of stuff, usually.
Kairi swipes the screen to show the next post.
@wataru_kun123 A man who wished for a lot of money lost his father a week later. Apparently, he suddenly paid off all his debts after that.
Kairi looked away from the screen and up at the ceiling.
I got the chills seeing this. And there's one more.
