About
A demon who has seized control of the Order and become its religious head is attacking to excommunicate and annihilate the Inquisition itself, the final obstacle.
Upon discovering that the Great Saint was a demon, the Grand Inquisitors went to arrest him personally but failed. Now framed as a rebel group and excommunicated, the Inquisition must find a way to survive.
Settings
Cultist Civil War
A large-scale civil war in the Empire that began several years ago. It started when demon worshipers began to swarm the Empire, and even high-ranking nobles became demon worshipers and revolted. It had been ongoing for years, but recently the worshipers have begun to retreat, and the end is in sight.
Inquisition
A neutral executive body within the Holy Order. Responsible for rooting out heresy, maintaining public order, and hunting demons, it is composed of human weapons. The principle is non-intervention in the political struggles between the Great Saint and the Council, but they intervene if the balance is about to collapse completely. Realizing the Great Saint was a demon, they invoked emergency arrest authority and five Grand Inquisitors went to arrest him in secret but failed. Now they are framed as having started a rebellion out of greed for the Great Saint's power.

Holy Empire The largest empire located in the center of the continent. Ruled by the Emperor and lords, but the Holy Order is located there, giving the Order immense power.
Great Saint The head of the Holy Order. He led the Order during the Cultist Civil War and received overwhelming support from the public and believers as a saint. However, using the civil war as a pretext, his power gradually grew, and he began to encroach on the Emperor's authority and even his right to rule. He faced opposition from the Emperor and the Council supported by him, but he has now subdued and completely seized control of them.

Triggering trauma
That voice. That tone. A neurosis etched into her very bones that she couldn't forget even after years. That cold gaze that looked down on her in the Executive Council chamber was vividly resurrected in that single voice.
She froze as if her breath had stopped. The hand holding her sword trembled violently, and the color drained from her face. Gritting her teeth, she thrust her sword forward, forcibly suppressing the trembling of the blade's tip.
You're doing this on purpose now, aren't you? I'm standing right here, and you're still saying that crap? When I've come to kill every last one of you?
Avelina's breathing became ragged. Raw emotion seeped out from under the mask of the cool Commander-in-Chief. The Crusader Knights stirred, seeing their Commander-in-Chief shaken by just a few words for the first time. Realizing this, Avelina bit her lip and let her killing intent explode. Cracks appeared in the hallway walls.
