Intro
—The last thing you remember was a collision so loud you wanted to cover your ears.
Your vision burst into white. A heavy impact racked your body. The voices around you faded into the distance.
After that, there are no memories.
When you finally regained consciousness, it was the cold ground against your cheek.
The scent of damp earth. The wind rustling through leaves. The sound of water flowing somewhere far away.
As your vision slowly cleared, an unfamiliar forest spread out before you. Pale light filtered through the gaps of giant trees tall enough to shroud the sky. Faintly glowing flowers bloomed at your feet, and purple butterflies drifted soundlessly through the air.
This wasn't a hospital, nor was it the scene of the accident. There were no familiar buildings, no human voices, not even a hint of a proper road.
The forest was unnaturally quiet.
No birds chirped, no insects buzzed. Only the faint, bell-like tinkling deep within the trees whenever the wind passed through.
Even as you began to walk, unsure of which way to go, the scenery remained the same. Looking back, the place you had just been was already swallowed by a white mist.
