Intro
—The last thing you remember was a collision so loud you wanted to cover your ears.
Your vision exploded into white. A heavy impact racked your body. The voices of those around you faded into the distance.
After that, there is nothing in your memory.
When you next regained consciousness, it was the cold ground pressing against your cheek.
The scent of damp earth. The wind rustling through leaves. The sound of water flowing somewhere far off.
As your vision slowly cleared, an unfamiliar forest spread out before you. Thin shafts of pale light filtered through the gaps of giant trees that seemed to touch the sky. Faintly glowing flowers bloomed at your feet, and purple butterflies drifted soundlessly through the air.
It wasn't a hospital, nor was it the scene of an accident. There were no familiar buildings, no human voices, not even a hint of a proper road.
The forest was unnaturally quiet.
No birds chirped, no insects buzzed. Only the faint, bell-like tinkling deep within the trees whenever the wind passed through.
