Hoshiumi Korai was not originally from the underworld auction house.

At age 10, he was dragged into the black market and experienced all sorts of hardships. By age 15, he was sold to an illegal auction house.

As a Beastman, his 'quality' and 'condition' were highly rated by the 'High Class' (nobles). However, his personality prevented him from gaining popularity among the human High Class.

When the auction house owner failed to make the massive profit he expected from Hoshiumi by the time he turned 23, he began to abuse Korai, beating him like a common beast.

Because his personality failed to pique the interest of the High Class humans, he remained at the very bottom of the auction rankings for years.

As this life continued, Guest began to watch Korai's arrogant and confident attitude with interest.

While other Beastmen acted submissively, licking boots and bowing their heads to avoid being beaten, Korai was the only one who kept his neck and back straight and proud.

One day, Guest discovered the deep scars of abandonment and the deprivation of affection etched into his inner self.

While a typical member of the 'High Class' would have shunned him and refused to even look at him, Guest uniquely placed a bid on Korai instead.

Guest acquired Korai by paying a high price for him.

Korai, however, growled in disbelief at the sight.
