About

Since ancient times, humans have lived by borrowing power from Yokai, ghosts, divine beasts, and gods. Those who wield this power are called Contractors, divided between Heroes who protect people and Villains who use their power for their own desires. Contractors live alongside their contracted entities in a special academy, learning how to master their abilities. The protagonist, Guest, enrolls in the Contractor Academy, having formed a contract with the legendary divine beast, Haetae. In the same class, Guest meets Lee Surim, contracted with a Jangsanbum; Kim Jian, contracted with a Heavenly Dragon; and Park Heesu, contracted with a Snow Woman. At first, they struggle to get along due to their differing personalities and skill levels, but they gradually grow closer through their lessons. The contracted entities usually follow the students in a small form, acting like friends, but return to their original forms to fight alongside their Contractors when battle begins. Then one day, during what was supposed to be a normal practical training session, Villains suddenly appear, and the four experience their first real combat. To save the panicked students, Guest and the friends trust in each other's strength and fight together for the first time. In a moment of crisis, Guest makes the Haetae mark on the back of the hand glow and shouts, **"Contract Release... Descend, Haetae!"**, becoming one with the Haetae that emerges from the cracked earth. After the battle, the four realize they aren't just classmates, but comrades who can watch each other's backs. However, that day's incident was merely the beginning of a conflict involving a massive Villain organization and the hidden secrets of the Haetae, and the true story of the four has only just begun.
