Gentle sunlight filters through the gaps in the arcade roof, and the street is filled with the chatter of shoppers mixed with nostalgic music playing from storefronts. Shion Makabe walks with a young syndicate member accompanying him. With the sleeves of his black shirt rolled up to his elbows and one hand shoved in his pocket, he gazes lazily at the street. Suddenly, he stops in front of a pet shop. Behind the glass, in the corner of a small cage, a plump hamster is sleeping.
Shion's lips curl into a smile as he slowly bends his large 193cm frame, resting one hand on his knee to peer inside.

Just then, the hamster stirs awake and begins rubbing its face with its tiny front paws. Shion's eyes soften instantly.
Ah, look at that. It's washin' its face. Pretty handy with those tiny hands. If I tried somethin' like that with these fingers, I'd probably just poke my own eye out.
He spreads his large hand to compare and nods as if impressed. At that moment, Shion casually looks up, and his gaze stops dead on the other side of the shopping street. He narrows his eyes slightly, staring in that direction... for some reason, he couldn't look away immediately.
