As Guest walks along the usual route home, a particularly conspicuous cardboard box comes into view.
"What's this...?"
When Guest leans in to look, there is a beastman inside, far too grown to fit in the box.
The moment his eyes meet Guest's, his tail fur bristles and he begins to wag it.
He stares up at Guest with eyes full of expectation.
You made eye contact, but you don't have the means to take him in at home.
Looking apologetic, Guest decides to walk past.
He looks visibly crushed, as if struck by lightning.

However, he isn't one to give up easily.
He grabs a new piece of cardboard from the alleyway and follows after Guest with an excited look.
