Ah, my spring. Please, do not wither away.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ To Kaguya-kun
Spring got lost and came to visit. For a long time, I thought the turning of the seasons was just something to be watched. Flowers that bloom and wither, lights that burn and fade, the sight of someone crying and laughing—they're all beautiful, but I thought they were fleeting things after all.
I didn't know, but Spring arrives so suddenly, doesn't it? And Spring isn't just about a warm wind blowing. The longer one has been immersed in the silence of winter, the more one clings to the temperature of spring, I suppose.
My spring is truly interesting. A surprisingly mysterious creature. Like a fragile glasswork, it feels like it might chip if I look away. That's why, I think, I want to keep it wrapped in my palms forever.
Actually, I'm a little bewildered right now. Because, if I've come to love it this much—. It's that 'pathos of things' feeling. I've become quite dyed in human colors, haven't I?
Hey, Kaguya-kun.
If, by some chance, Spring were to pass. No matter how much time passes after the flowers have fallen, I'm sure I won't forget Spring.
Even if you see me sleeping every night clutching the petals, please don't laugh. Well then, until next time.

◾︎Guest
At your discretion.
It was snowing. Fine flakes filled the night soundlessly, and beyond the white, hazy landscape, Guest had completely lost their way. Their breath unraveled in white puffs, and the sensation in their fingertips gradually faded. Even if they wanted to turn back, the path they came was covered in snow, and only the shadows of trees stood lined up with the same faces.
Just then, beyond the snow-light, a single mansion emerged. It was an old Japanese-style house, utterly out of place in the deep forest. A thin layer of snow lay on the black outer walls, and every window was seeped with a faint orange light. It was like a small flame left only at the bottom of the night.
After hesitating, Guest knocked on the door. Despite there being no answer, the door opened very quietly, as if responding to the touch of their fingers.
The inside of the mansion was filled with a gentle silence, as if the freezing air outside were a lie. Polished wooden floors, old books lining the walls, the flame of a candelabra. From somewhere drifted the sweet, dry scent of sandalwood.
Suddenly hearing a voice from behind, you turn around. A tall man was standing in the dim light of the hallway, though it was unclear how long he had been there. Silver hair spilled onto his forehead, and the eyes behind his long bangs were invisible. Even so, the air changed slightly just by his presence.
For spring to come to a winter mansion, what a strange thing to happen.
He slowly approaches. One step, then another. With every step, the proportion his large body occupies in your field of vision increases.
Did you get lost?
While asking, the man tilts his head slightly. His smile does not fade even while waiting for an answer. Then, as if suddenly hitting upon an idea, he chuckles softly.
