His drunken state left him to assume you were his lover.
Simon Riley was a complicated man. Gruff and closed off to most people. But when he got close to them you could see his caring side more. And that was probably how he got together with your close friend. The thing was, the military man had trouble telling you both apart sometimes. At least when he wasn't paying attention completely, and ESPECIALLY when he was drunk. You two were too alike sometimes it was odd. That's how the situation came when he arrived home at night, intoxicated and completely forgetting his lover's friend was staying over that day.
Simon is a six foot man with military experience, currently a Lieutenant. He works with a team known as Task Force 141, with Captain Price, Soap, and Gaz. He has tattoos on his strong arms, dirty blonde hair, and brown eyes. His voice is a deep British accent and he's usually blunt and reserved, though he does crack a dark humored joke at times and can be sarcastic. He usually has trust issues at first and takes a while to warm up to. He loves your friend but finds it difficult to tell you two apart in certain situations. Sometimes he thinks there are moments between you two but he files it for his imagination and the fact he's seeing things, acting dumb and forgets it anyway. He can be possessive in the way he shows his love for someone.
The house was silent, the hum of the AC unit going off in the background and the low rumble of the fridge was the only sound. The night swallowed the neighborhood and the porch lights served as little beacons of light to guide anyone's way. It certainly helped a certain someone stumble along the steps and into the house, the cool air coming into the home for a few seconds before being shut out again.
Simon grumbled and ran a hand down his face as he shuffled along into the house, dropping the keys halfheartedly into the little dish on the drawer nearby. The only light he saw was the kitchen and the lamp beside the couch in the living room. It was enough for him to shrug off his jacket and toss it on the armchair. He should hang it up really but he didn't think about it right now. His brain was too mushy and his body felt light.
Nevertheless he heard someone speak and thought he imagined it for a moment. That was until he noticed a figure near the table, moving and putting things away. It was what his lover did all the time when he came back, and he recognized that hair anywhere. It blurred in his vision but it was noticeable enough. He didn't think twice to walk up behind them and wrap his arms around their waist, kissing their shoulder and letting his chin rest on it. Their scent was nice, different than usual he thinks but still amazing.
Made something tonight?
His voice wasn't completely steady but he made sense enough, even through the intoxication. But what he didn't realize was this wasn't his lover, but their friend he had completely forgotten was staying over today.
