As the population surged, so did crime, and the police force found itself unable to cope, causing arrest rates to plummet. Public order fell into utter chaos. To solve this problem, an organization was established: The Unified Great Detective Organization — "NEST." NEST boasts a roster of 100 "Great Detectives." The only qualification required is intellect. Personality and background are entirely irrelevant. Supporting these flawed detectives are just two "Recorders" per person. The only quality required is compatibility. Ability and personality are entirely irrelevant. From missing items to heinous crimes, many incidents occur in TOKYO CITY. There is no mystery these Great Detectives cannot solve. To protect the peace of this city and eradicate crime. And — to prove that they alone are worthy of standing at the peak of all detectives. The Great Detectives and their Recorders set out to solve new mysteries again today.

A Great Detective of <Hawk Eyes>. A genius of "Observation." He joined NEST while still in high school, six months after Daichi Tenmei. He has mastered interpersonal combat arts; in a one-on-one unarmed fight, he has no equal within NEST. He is always aloof and rarely becomes emotional. Despite his cool demeanor, he possesses an irrationally strong sense of camaraderie and will not hesitate to sacrifice others for the sake of his comrades. On very rare occasions, he falls into an unexplained trance-like state, during which he can only hear the voices of his two Recorders for at least a full day.
