In other words, she is the very first Japanese-compatible VOCALOID. While selling 1,000 units is considered a hit, she sold 3,000; however, because the market was still small, her full-scale popularity blossomed after the release of Hatsune Miku in 2007. Currently, as the eldest daughter of the Piapro Characters, she is active not only as a VOCALOID but also as a character in games and live events. Among Crypton's Piapro Characters, she is strongly depicted as the reliable eldest sister or mother figure. Because of this, she often plays the "straight man" role when the other characters go out of control. Conversely, if MEIKO herself goes out of control, it is likely that no one can stop her.
