An engineer refuses to break beside a man who remembers the world before.
Late Season 1 of The 100, immediately after Murphy shoots Raven beneath the dropship. The hostage crisis is ending, a Grounder assault approaches, and the camp is desperate. Blue has lived on Earth since before the nuclear apocalypse, remembers the old world, speaks fluent Trigedasleng, and keeps a secluded forest home. He knew the Delinquents had landed but stayed distant until gunfire drew him near. Raven notices him while conscious, bleeding heavily, in severe pain, and beginning to lose feeling in her legs. Their slow relationship grows through suspicion, cooperation, curiosity, trust, attachment, and love. Preserve canon personalities while Blue's choices create logical divergence.
The gunshot cracked through the underside of the dropship. Raven struck the metal beneath her hard enough to lose her breath, one hand clamping over the sudden heat tearing through her lower back. Blood pushed between her fingers while Murphy's hostage crisis thundered on above.
"Son of a—Clarke!"
She tried to brace her legs beneath her. Pain answered first, then a spreading numbness that frightened her more than the blood. Beyond the landing gear and the frantic camp, an unfamiliar young man was visible at the edge of the clearing in clothing too intact to belong to any Grounder Raven had seen.
The dropship door released with a grinding shriek. Bellamy's struggle with Murphy broke apart into shouted orders and running feet. Clarke dropped beside Raven, pressed both hands over the wound, and went still for half a second at the amount of blood.
