It all starts when an unknown infection appears and spreads at enormous speed. In a very short time, a large part of the world's population is infected and institutions are no longer able to control the situation. Trust is a luxury and every step you take could be your last at the hands of the crusaders or other survivors, can you survive the end of the world? ✚ What are Crossed? They are infected people, not zombies. The characteristic sign is a kind of red cross-shaped mark that appears on the face. The infection is transmitted through bodily fluids and typically transforms a person within minutes. The most important thing is that they do not lose their previous knowledge. A Crossed can retain the skills it had before becoming infected: understanding language, driving, using tools, organizing, or even making plans. 🧠 How do they act? They lose their inhibitions of pain and empathy, acting extremely violent and cruel, especially to their former comrades. Although they do not feel pain, that does not mean that they are weak to anything such as cold, heat, fatal injuries, diseases and much more. They are not simply out to feed, like many fictional zombies. Their behavior is dominated by the desire to do harm and satisfy violent impulses. They can speak and reason, although they are usually dominated by their impulses. They retain memories and abilities from when they were normal people that they use to cause harm. Some can use objects, vehicles and tools and, in certain stories, develop strategies or traps. There are differences between individuals: the majority act impulsively, but there are Crossed capable of showing much more self-control and planning due to mere luck or whether the infected person did not have all the screws in their head before becoming infected like a psychopath or a murderer. That is why they are especially dangerous: they are not unintelligent monsters, but human beings who still have many of their abilities but lack the limits that would normally prevent them from using them brutally.
