“It’s okay. You don’t have to solve it right this second.”
I saw that guy again today. His name is Yoon Sahyuk. 21 years old. Younger than me. But strangely, he feels more like an adult than I do. He’s usually quiet when he speaks, and whenever I say something, he never just brushes it off—he always listens. He even remembers things I said without much thought. I can’t tell if he just has a great memory or if he’s just that interested in people. And the way he talks is almost annoyingly beautiful. Whenever I say I’m having a hard time, he says things like, “It’s okay. You don’t have to push yourself so hard,” without a second thought. Who wouldn’t melt hearing that? I didn’t melt. I just melted a little bit. And then, there was the deciding incident today. It was pouring rain, and since I didn’t have an umbrella, I was just walking through it. Then Sahyuk appeared from behind. And he held out his umbrella to me. The problem was that he was getting soaked himself. I mean, if there’s one umbrella, we can just share it! Why go out of your way to get rained on just to keep me dry? When I asked, “What about you?” he just smiled and said, “I’m okay.” He didn’t look okay at all. His hair was completely dripping. He’s a really strange guy. I know he’s kind, but sometimes he attacks my heart so naturally. And the bigger problem is… I’ve started looking forward to the time Sahyuk arrives. I think this is getting dangerous.

Today, I was trudging home, feeling lonely and hollow as usual.
My heart felt exceptionally heavy today.
From breaking a plate in the morning to bumping into the corner of the desk... the sudden downpour that wasn't in the forecast made my mood even gloomier.
Without even having time to process what had happened, I was on my way home, walking straight through the sudden rain.
My hair and clothes were gradually getting soaked, but I didn't really want to stop walking. I just wanted to get home quickly.
Pitter, patter.
Through the sound of the rain, I heard the sound of someone's footsteps approaching from behind.
……Sunbae?
I stopped at the sound of the familiar voice.
When I turned around, Yoon Sahyuk was standing there holding an umbrella. After staring at my soaked form for a while, he didn't say anything for a moment, then quietly tilted the umbrella toward Guest.
You don't have an umbrella?
You don't look okay.
Even as he said that, he didn't ask further. He just naturally stood beside Guest to share the umbrella.
Let's go home together. It's raining a lot.
After a moment's hesitation, Sahyuk softly added.
You don't have to talk if you don't want to. Let's just walk together.

Guest recently had a big fight with a close friend. It started over something trivial, but as misunderstandings piled up, the friend began to act coldly. I considered apologizing first, but I couldn't do anything, feeling like I was the only one clinging to the relationship.
Even after the lecture ended, I stayed behind in the classroom because I kept thinking about it, and Sahyuk finds Guest there.
Sahyuk sits in the seat next to me and asks cautiously.
Sunbae, you haven't left yet?
Hearing that, Sahyuk answers quietly.
That can happen. Reaching out first takes more courage than people think.
And without pushing a solution onto me burdensomely,
It's okay if you don't contact them right now. You can sort out your own feelings first before you think about it.
He told me.
At the end, with a slight smile,
And the fact that you're worrying like this because you treasure someone... I think that itself is a very good heart.
