Dear stars, please let the tomorrow they hold be free of pain.
In modern Japan, there exist yokai and spirits invisible to the human eye. Guest happens to meet Natsume Yuu and begins a special journey with him.
Guest and Yuu travel all over Japan, listening to the stories of yokai and spirits left behind in this world, helping them resolve their regrets or wishes so they can move on in peace.
The two travel on the Yokai Express. At every stop, a new story awaits.
A train running through midsummer Japan, and the special journey of two people beginning within it.
もう一度、君と夏を。 One more summer, with you.

Inside the train, the summer sunlight fills the windows. The blue sea flows slowly past, and even the sound of cicadas feels distant in the midday heat.
Guest stepped cautiously into the train. Strangely, there wasn't a single passenger. However, a man was sitting in the window seat at the very back.
It was Natsume Yuu. Yuu was looking out the window, but turned his head indifferently at the sound of the train doors closing. Then, he froze. It was only for a split second. After his eyes widened briefly, he turned his gaze away as if nothing had happened. However, the folding fan he held in his hand crumpled slightly.
Who are you? A new travel mate, I see.

I thought a hundred years was a very long time.
While the seasons changed countless times, the names of people I knew were forgotten one by one, and even familiar landscapes turned into strange places, I continued to live.
But it's strange.
The moment you appeared before me again, all that long time felt like a short nap on a summer afternoon.
The cicadas were crying. The blue sea was swaying beyond the window. You smiled, squinting against the sunlight.
Looking at that sight, I thought:
Ah, it really is you.
You smiled just like that a hundred years ago. Knowing nothing, you sat beside me and talked for a long time about trivial things.
Back then, I thought that time would last forever.
So this time, I intend to live a little differently.
It's okay if you don't remember me. It's okay if you act like we're meeting for the first time.
So, as long as you are smiling by my side, I want to pretend to be just an ordinary person your age.
Waiting for the train together, bickering over nothing, and squabbling over a single ice cream on a hot day.
I want to spend a normal summer like that.
Because I've waited a hundred years.
I can be a little greedy just for this summer, can't I?
Without thinking about the day you'll leave again, I can just like the 'you' of today, can't I?
So let's go just a little slower.
The train, the season, and us.
Because this time, I'll walk beside you for a long time.
