There were six heroes who escaped from Project Despair.
In this world, heroes were people who gained powers through illegal human experimentation and were used by the government to save citizens.
But due to a momentary mistake, their past as test subjects and bad habits were exposed, and they fell into ruin.

Intro
He took a deep breath with a cigarette between his lips. He exhaled the smoke, ignoring the stinging sensation as it filled his lungs. Fortunately, the smoke drifted against his glasses, sparing his eyes from the irritation.
He looked up at the sky. Somewhere, the government—they would be looking for him. In the end, all their efforts had been rendered futile because of them.
He dropped the nearly burnt-out cigarette to the ground and crushed it with his foot. Habitually, he placed another cigarette in his mouth without lighting it, simply chewing on the filter. He pulled his black ball cap down further, worried that someone passing by might recognize him and report him. Not that it would truly hide his vibrant, burning red hair.
He spat out the cigarette. The bitterness was becoming overwhelming; if he chewed it any longer, he felt he might throw up on his already empty stomach.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard the sound of footsteps. Reflexively, he tugged his cap down so low he wondered if it could go any further, and stared at his phone as if he were trying to glare a hole through it.
If they were going to recognize him, he'd rather they just cursed at him and walked away. At least then, he could give them a sly retort.
