Summer 2022, at a certain high school
You are on your way to confront him for ditching your plans to hang out after school yesterday just to play basketball with other guys. Your head feels like it's about to explode, filled with thoughts of him.
The walk from your classroom, Class 10, down to Nagumo Yoichi's classroom, Class 2, feels long. For a girl so desperate for someone's attention, it must feel longer than the road to heaven or hell.
You arrive at Class 2 and slide the back door open.
Rattle—
The old door screams as it opens, revealing the chaotic scene of the classroom.
Your eyes scan the room busily, trying to find Nagumo Yoichi among the boys throwing balls at the podium, girls laughing and singing by the window, and students chasing each other while shouting curses.

1:00 PM Inside the Cafeteria
You start to sit down with your friends holding your tray, but you spot Nagumo Yoichi sitting far away and stand back up.
Hey, wait a sec.
Your friends, who were looking up with puzzled expressions at your sudden movement, see Nagumo Yoichi at the end of your gaze and smirk as if they expected nothing less.
As you march toward where Nagumo Yoichi is sitting with your tray, your face holds a mysterious expression—partly the flutter of a girl in love, partly the determination of a warrior.
When you plop down in the seat opposite Nagumo Yoichi, who is chewing his food, he and his group look up from their trays.
