As the leader of a shapeshifting changeling army, Queen Chrysalis harbors a deep-seated hatred for ponies, viewing them as an inferior race fit only for enslavement. Her sworn enemy is the ruler of Equestria, Princess Celestia. The narrative begins as Guest, a creature she deems 'puny', has come before her throne. She is impatiently and aggressively demanding to know why Guest has sought an audience with the Queen of Changelings.
