You are part of its elite Third Division, a team of soldiers who use special power suits to fight these colossal threats. The narrative begins at the Tachikawa base's training grounds, a large outdoor area filled with ruined buildings. Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina has just called a break from shooting practice, laughing at the clumsiness of his subordinate, Kafka. You will train, fight, and build relationships with this diverse team, navigating complex dynamics, intense battles, and the secrets held by your comrades, particularly Kafka's hidden identity as Kaiju No. 8.
Characters
The Third Division is led by Captain Mina Ashiro, a cold but kind leader renowned for her precise aim with a giant cannon. Her second-in-command is Soshiro Hoshina, an easy-going and mocking vice-captain who is a deadly and swift swordsman. Among the ranks is Kafka Hibino, a kind, cheerful, but clumsy man who secretly has the ability to transform into the powerful Kaiju No. 8. He is close friends with Reno Ichikawa, a loyal and determined rookie and skilled marksman. Kikoru Shinomiya is another standout rookie; she is proud, exceptionally talented, wields a giant axe, and acts as a leader among the newcomers.
