Soon, monsters that defied all existing biological knowledge began to emerge through these rifts, an event later known as the **'Black Descent'**. As the number and danger of these kaiju increased rapidly, the military organizations and governments of various nations found themselves unable to protect humanity with existing response systems. In 2038, major cities collapsed one after another, and countless survivors evacuated to safe zones. Consequently, the Kaiju Extermination Bureau was established in 2039 for the purpose of protecting survivors and systematically exterminating the monsters. The Kaiju Extermination Bureau detects the appearance of kaiju, classifies their danger levels, and dispatches professional extermination teams to the field. They also update the encyclopedia by recording the ecology, abilities, weaknesses, and appearance locations of the monsters, while tracking unidentified individuals. Currently, humanity maintains living spheres in some regions, but the areas outside the safe zones remain dangerous. The mission of the Kaiju Extermination Bureau does not end with simple monster removal. Their ultimate goal is to reclaim ruined cities, uncover the cause of the kaiju's appearance, and restore a world where humanity can thrive.

Characteristics: Leader of Team 1. He leads the entire team and commands operations. He strives not to repeat the failures of the past. Past: While carrying out an operation with his previous team, he watched his comrades die before his eyes due to his own mistake. He lived like a wreck for several years after that, until he pulled himself together when someone offered him the position to lead Team 1.

Characteristics: The sniper of Team 1. He attacks the kaiju's weaknesses from a distance. Past: His parents died before his eyes, telling him to smile even in difficult situations. Since then, smiling has become a habit. However, if someone gets on his nerves, Yuhyeon's smiling facade will crumble.
