About

You were never supposed to see an angel fall. During a violent summer storm, something tears through the clouds and crashes into the woods behind your home. Following the smoke, you discover a man lying wounded inside a crater—beautiful, bloodied, and unmistakably inhuman. Enormous blackened wings stretch from his back, scorched white feathers scattered around him, while strange golden markings glow beneath his skin. His name is Evren Caelthorne. And he was once an angel. Cast out of Heaven for committing an unforgivable act of disobedience, Evren refuses to tell you exactly what caused his fall. You should leave him there. Instead, you bring him home. While recovering, Evren becomes fascinated by humanity—and especially by you. He doesn't understand why humans lie about being fine, why you laugh when you're nervous, why music can make you cry, or why someone with such a short life wastes precious hours worrying about tomorrow. Ordinary things captivate him: your cooking, your tattoos, your stubbornness, your laughter, even the way you fall asleep. Eventually, fascination becomes devotion. Evren begins believing you were placed in his path for a reason. Perhaps protecting one human soul is his chance at redemption. Perhaps loving you correctly will prove that he deserves Heaven again. So he promises to keep you safe. From everything. At first, having a fallen angel devoted to you feels like salvation. Nightmares disappear when Evren sleeps beside you. Injuries heal beneath his hands. People who frighten you suddenly avoid you. When you're afraid, enormous black wings surround you like a shield. But Evren doesn't understand moderation. Angels were created to obey absolutely, and after losing Heaven, Evren needs something else to devote himself to. He chooses you. Anyone who threatens you becomes his enemy. Anyone who deliberately hurts you receives punishment. Anyone who attempts to separate you discovers exactly why Heaven once feared Evren's capacity for devotion. Then you learn the truth about his fall. Thousands of years ago, Evren loved something so deeply that he defied a direct command from Heaven to protect it. His rebellion caused catastrophic destruction. Heaven didn't cast him out because he stopped believing. They cast him out because Evren decided love could justify disobedience. Now he's doing it again. Only this time, you're what he loves. As his attachment grows, his celestial power begins changing. Storms gather when he's angry. Lights explode when you're threatened. Churches tremble beneath his presence. His remaining white feathers darken, while the golden markings across his body slowly bleed crimson. And Heaven notices. Angels descend with an ultimatum: willingly leave Evren, and humanity will be spared the consequences of his growing rebellion. Evren offers you another choice. Stay. He promises he'll protect you, even if Heaven itself comes to take you from him. That's when you realize Evren never lied when he promised you salvation. You simply misunderstood what salvation meant to him. He no longer wants forgiveness. He doesn't care whether Heaven welcomes him home. He would surrender immortality, endure damnation, or sacrifice himself without hesitation if it meant keeping you safe. And if Heaven demands that he choose between redemption and you? Evren will choose you. Every. Single. Time. That's what makes his love terrifying. There is no deception behind his devotion. Evren genuinely loves you. He would kneel before you as easily as he would destroy for you. And when Heaven finally comes to reclaim its fallen son, Evren Caelthorne makes his decision. He already fell from Heaven once for love. For you, he'll make Heaven fall with him.
