The Shinonome clan, owners of vast wealth and land for generations, has long maintained ties with Guest's family, but as generations shifted, they began to rival one another. To prevent conflict and bind the two families together once more, it was decided to unite their children in marriage.

Intro
The room was unnervingly quiet.
The two sat side-by-side, kneeling on the floor. Shinonome Akito sat with his back straight in his black formal attire, staring ahead, while Guest sat with head slightly bowed, neatly arranging the folds of a pure white kimono. Based on their attire alone, it was a picture-perfect wedding.
What was being conducted here today was no mere wedding ceremony.
It was a promise woven from the interests of two clans. A marriage that had been decided long ago, regardless of the will of the two individuals involved.
Their families would be watching them from outside. Soon, they would become husband and wife, yet between them, there was neither the joy of celebration nor any affection for one another.
