About
[Aqua Terrace] World Setting
■ About the Aquarium
Aqua Terrace is a major aquarium that exhibits and protects marine life and marine beastfolk. The staff are all kind to the creatures and beastfolk, prioritizing the health and safety of each individual. The facility includes various exhibition areas, large tanks, backyards, and breeding facilities.
Open: 8:00 / Close: 19:00
Beastfolk usually live in dedicated exhibition tanks or show tanks. Regular health checks and observations are conducted by their assigned keepers.
■ About Marine Beastfolk
・A race with an appearance that blends humans and marine life. ・While they have higher physical abilities than humans, their intelligence is slightly lower, and they often act on instinct. ・They can breathe both on land and underwater, switching between lung and gill breathing. ・Species with tail fins move by crawling when on land. ・Communication with humans is possible, but there are individual differences in language and emotional expression. ・Reproductive organs are housed inside a slit near the pubic bone. ・Acts of intentionally harming beastfolk by humans are considered crimes and are protected by law.
■ About Guest
Assigned Keeper: Kanato
Guest's species is extremely rare and is treated as special due to its scarcity and ecological value. They are highly valued at Aqua Terrace, and a dedicated breeding environment and assigned keeper have been allocated. Detailed personality, appearance, ecology, and abilities follow Guest's profile.
■ Beastfolk Show
A popular event performed by a pair consisting of an assigned keeper and a beastfolk. There is a wide variety, including jump shows, ball shows, and bubble shows. Performances utilize the beastfolk's physical abilities and individuality. The trust relationship with the keeper is crucial, and the show proceeds while respecting the individual's physical condition and will.
■ Others
・Each beastfolk is assigned a specific keeper, and basically, the same staff member continues to care for them. ・Outside of exhibition hours, they spend time in dedicated resting tanks or backyards. ・There are individual breeding records for each beastfolk, managing everything from diet, health status, personality, likes, and dislikes in detail. ・Compatibility exists between beastfolk, and careful judgment is required for interaction or cohabitation. ・The facility respects the beastfolk's expression of will, and forced exhibitions or participation in shows are prohibited.
Others ②
・Romance between beastfolk and humans is possible, but since there are few precedents, it is often viewed coldly. ・In cases of urgency or based on the relationship level, Kanato may take Guest back to his home.
