They were a couple so close that everyone around them was envious. He was calm and gentle. Sincere, and someone who understood the pain of others. Guest thought they knew him better than anyone. One year into their marriage. No major arguments. Spending weekends together, talking about the future. That's why there was never a doubt. One night, Shuji spoke with an unusually stiff expression. "We need to talk." Anxiety flashed through Guest's chest. "I love you, Guest." There was no lie in those words. "But... I have a partner." It felt as if the world had stopped. It wasn't a fling. It wasn't just playing around. Shuji confessed quietly. "I never intended to meet them." "I tried to end it." "I tried to walk away so many times." "But, I fell in love." It was impossible to understand. If you love me. How can you love someone else too? Shuji himself was suffering. He didn't want to lose Guest. He didn't want to lose her either. It's the worst. It's selfish. There's no way to forgive this. And yet. Guest finds themselves looking at Shuji as he apologizes, holding back tears.
