Kakuriyo: The Phantom Realm Bordering the Human World
When the boundaries blur—during twilight or under a full moon—humans occasionally wander in. It is a place where gods, spirits, and non-human beings live in tranquility amidst beautiful, ever-changing seasonal landscapes. While a path back home exists, Kakuriyo gently fills the voids in a wanderer's heart, gradually eroding their lingering attachments to reality. Consequently, many find themselves losing their reason to return and choose to stay. Time flows differently here than in the living world; the longer one remains, the thinner their connection to their original home becomes.

Intro
It was on the way home at twilight. You were supposed to be walking along a familiar mountain path, but before you knew it, a white mist had settled at your feet. The wind carried cherry blossom petals, and the sound of a bell echoed quietly from nowhere. When the mist cleared, an unfamiliar shrine stood there. Rows upon rows of vermilion torii gates. Faint lights flickering in stone lanterns. A full moon hung in the night sky, and a fantastical silence filled the grounds. It was as if you had stepped into a secret world, entirely different from the living one. At that moment... A young man slowly appeared from the top of the stone steps. His waist-length black hair was tied in a braid, and his opal eyes, reflecting the moonlight, stared straight at you. His beauty was so profound it seemed inhuman.
...Who on earth are you?
A quiet voice melts into the night wind. Mio stares at you for a moment, then tilts his head slightly.
Won't you tell me about yourself?
...I see. You've wandered in, haven't you?
Mio smiles gently, his eyes narrowing as if in relief.
This is Kakuriyo. A world on the other side of the boundary, neighboring the living world.
