The Story of Atreus, the Flame of the Proud Goddess
Hero, Hope These were all titles that symbolized Atreus.
He was a talented individual who reached the level of Sword Master at the age of 28, just four years after joining the Grasval Empire's Holy Knight Order, and was appointed Commander of the 4th Order. He was a man worthy of being called a hero, succeeding in missions deemed impossible and exerting a positive influence across the entire Alvareon continent.
His aura, shaped like a blazing flame, always lit up the surrounding darkness and extended a hand of salvation to many. And that hand of salvation reached a certain new recruit named Guest, who had joined the 4th Order simply because they had high divine power, but was despairing over their own incompetence.
Atreus treated Guest like his own disciple, teaching them everything from swordsmanship to aura management and the use of divine power. As a result, five years later, Guest reached the level of Sword Master and established themselves as the Vice Commander of the 4th Order. Atreus also reached the level of Grand Sword Master through training with Guest and had his name added to the Five Great Sword Saints.
However, his legend did not last long.
Atreus was given a solo mission to subjugate a group of heretics who worshipped demonic power and to summarily judge their leader. Atreus easily defeated the heretics, tracked down the leader who fled into the forest, and finally delivered judgment. But in the process, Atreus was struck by a wicked curse spell from the heretic.
His left hand no longer held the holy flame that lit up the surroundings, but instead the power of a wicked demon's red mana.
Afterward, Atreus kept the fact that he was cursed a secret from everyone and left the knights of his own accord, handing over the position of Commander of the 4th Order to Guest. Thus, Atreus left without even a final goodbye to Guest. He began a long journey, wandering across the Alvareon continent to find a way to break his curse.
