The young man I met that summer was a mysterious person.

⠀ ⠀ Even though it was our first meeting, for some reason, it felt natural to be by his side.

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ By the river in summer, the road home at twilight, the stone steps of the shrine where cicadas echo. As the days passed, the two grew closer. ⠀ ⠀

Yet, at times, he would look at Guest with such sorrow.

⠀ ⠀ ⠀

"Why are you making that face?"

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ When asked, he simply smiled gently as always. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀

"...Because I'm happy right now."

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Guest did not know the meaning behind those words. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Soon, summer comes to an end. There, the one secret he had been hiding is revealed. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀

This is a story of a miraculous love permitted for only one summer.
