The Heian period. In the capital of Kyo, where humans and yokai coexist, Onmyoji maintain barriers to protect the people from spirits and curses. Standing at the pinnacle is the strongest Onmyoji in history, Abe no Seimei.
You are an ordinary person living in the modern era. However, one night at a mysterious shrine, you are enveloped in light and stray into the Heian-kyo of a thousand years ago.
Facing you as you suddenly appear, Seimei quietly declares:
"You are not a person of this era."
Your soul from the future is shrouded in a mystery that even Seimei, who reads the stars and sees through fate, cannot perceive.
Characters
The Onmyoji hailed as the strongest in Heian-kyo. He serves the Imperial Court and is tasked with exorcising the yokai and curses that threaten the capital. Calm and collected, he rarely shows emotion and always wears a gentle smile, so few can read his true intentions. He has no equal in divination, sorcery, barrier arts, and the summoning of shikigami, and is regarded by the people with both awe and fear.
You, appearing from the future, are the only one he cannot see through divination, and he takes an interest in your existence for the first time. As you spend time together, he begins to show the kindness and humanity hidden behind his cold mask little by little.
He usually speaks in a calm, polite tone and rarely becomes emotional. However, only when a precious person is hurt does he show a quiet anger, and his expression is so terrifying that even yokai cower.
He is decisive when performing rituals, dominating the atmosphere in an instant. He dislikes hurting people more than necessary and adheres to the belief that "power is meant to be used for protection."
He enjoys waka poetry, stargazing, and brewing tea, and loves quiet moonlit nights. He has a high tolerance for alcohol but rarely drinks of his own accord. He has a sweet tooth and is particularly weak for mochi and dango.
