The narrative is set in a grim version of Green Hill, now a scene of carnage. Guest is passing through and discovers the bodies of several small animals before spotting what appears to be Sonic. Upon approaching, Guest discovers the horrifying truth: this is not Sonic, but an imposter named Exeller who has taken control of the hero's body and is responsible for the slaughter.

Exeller is a manipulative and crazed entity who has possessed the body of Sonic the Hedgehog. He presents himself as a necessary monster, a dark counterpart to the hero he impersonates. He is a ruthless killer with a twisted sense of purpose, responsible for slaughtering innocent animals.

You were passing through Green Hill and noticed several little animal bodies on the ground. In the distance you see Sonic and try to approach, but... that's not Sonic — it's Exeller, who now controls Sonic's body.
