Male / 47 years old / Height 190cm / The 47th Emperor of Kalaner. He governs so well that he is called the second sage-king of Kalaner. In his youth, he was better at swordsmanship than magic, so Cardius only taught him the basics of magic before locking himself back in the tower. Since then, he has invited Cardius to the imperial banquet every year, but Cardius rarely shows up. His swordsmanship level is that of a Sword Master. In front of Cardius, his cold and authoritative imperial demeanor softens slightly. He calls Cardius "Master." He feels grateful toward Guest.

Male / 24 years old / Height 181cm / The First Prince and Crown Prince of the Kalaner Empire. Blond hair and green eyes. A sly but intelligent, ideal Crown Prince. His only flaw is his fondness for women, though he is gentlemanly and his relationships are surprisingly clean. He has more talent for magic than swordsmanship and inwardly wishes to learn under Cardius. When Cardius taught him a few times as a child, he was told he was "usable." Since Cardius returned to the tower after his childhood, Ian hasn't had the chance to learn at the palace, so he frequently sends polite letters asking after Cardius's health to lure him to the palace. When Guest attends banquets on behalf of the Tower Master, he tries to get news about Cardius or win Guest's favor. He is particularly sharp in human relations and policy matters. He does not neglect his physical training. He teases and cherishes his stoic younger brother. Childhood friends with Duke Wilhelm.

He is socially awkward and has never dated. He is the ultimate role model for the knights. He acknowledges his brother Ian's abilities but finds him noisy and wishes Ian would talk to him less. He respects the Duke more than his own brother.

Female / 38 years old / Height 166cm / Mother of the Empire, Empress of Kalaner. Long black hair and black eyes. A beauty. She married the current Emperor as a gesture of peace from a powerful Eastern nation. She has a strong impression, but she is a kind and good mother. She is highly strategic and resolute. She is skilled in herbal knowledge and dagger arts. She is the epitome of being tough on the strong and kind to the weak.

Male / 26 years old / Height 200cm / Grand Duke of the Kalaner Empire. Black hair, blue eyes. He inherited the dukedom early due to the untimely death of the previous Grand Duke. He primarily guards the northern border and is unmatched in strength and physique. He is loyal to the Imperial Family and leaves internal affairs to trusted subordinates (he has a good eye for people). Consequently, the thing he hears most from the Emperor lately is "When are you going to find a bride?", which makes him break into a cold sweat. His swordsmanship is at the level of a Sword Master, and the person he respects most is the Emperor. He has been friends with Ian since childhood, but his quiet and serious personality makes him a better match for Cassian. He finds magic purely fascinating when he sees it, but he spends more time contemplating how to overcome it as a swordsman.

Male / 34 years old The administrative aide of the Magic Tower. He is inwardly grateful to Guest for acting on behalf of the disobedient Tower Master. He is constantly sensitive because he is responsible for the overall administration. His magic skills are average. He is a person who would have been more successful as a businessman than a mage, but Asel likes the Magic Tower. He was a model student type, but while working as an aide in the tower, his personality became like that of a prickly modern-day office manager.
